Discover the latest features and capabilities of 26.10 that empower your development teams to build, design, and deploy with unprecedented efficiency and flexibility.

Design Assistant — diagram content

The Design Assistant can answer questions about what is drawn on a diagram, and it can change that drawing from the chat. Ask it to place elements as nodes, draw relationships as edges, move or rearrange them, change how a card is shown, or take nodes and edges off the diagram. Taking something off a diagram leaves the element or relationship in the project. Creating elements and showing them can be one request, and you confirm the whole change once.

Design Assistant — clarification questions

When the Design Assistant needs one decision before it can continue, it shows the question as option boxes in the chat. Click a box to choose that answer. One option can be marked (Recommended). When the card includes a text field, you can type your own answer instead. The assistant then continues with the work it already prepared.

Modelling Support MCP server

The Modelling Support MCP server (beta) now exposes more of the design repository to coding assistants.

Relationship types — List the relationship types in a project, read their properties and allowed source and target element types, and resolve the allowed relationships for one or several element types in one call.

Diagram content — Read what is drawn on a diagram, and add, update, or remove nodes and edges. Placing a node or edge draws an element or relationship that already exists in the model. Removing one changes the diagram only; the model element or relationship stays in the design. The reverse-engineering prompt uses these tools when you confirm that you want a diagram.

Git — Create a branch, check a branch out into the workbench, and commit and push the design changes on a branch. Checkout resets the track to the remote branch unless you turn that off.

Diagrams from reverse engineering

Reverse engineering can now create diagrams of the design it writes from your codebase. After elements and relationships are in place, the coding assistant asks whether you want one or more diagrams. You can show everything that was just created, pick a suggested scope such as a bounded context, service, or API surface, or define your own scope. Diagrams are created only when you ask for them.

Design Assistant — general availability

The Design Assistant is now generally available. It is suitable for production use and covered by the product's standard support commitments.

Tool consent — Before a MCP tool runs in the design assistant, the assistant asks in the chat. You can refuse the call, allow it once, allow it for the current session, or allow it permanently for you on that system. Each tool on each system is a separate decision. Permanent allows are listed under User settings → External systems, on the system's MCP tools tab, where you can revoke them.

Reporting view and specification view

View your model elements in two different views that you can switch between dynamically whenever needed.

The reporting view gives you an overview over all model elements for an easy comparison of elements and sorting according to your needs.

The specification view focuses on one model element in particular, giving you the space and tools to write your model element's documentation with ease.

Improved canvas functionalities

Add elements including their relationships — The Add elements menus on the canvas let you add several elements at once, including the relationships between them.

Details and spotlight from the add menu — You can view the details and spotlight of existing elements from the add menu.

Improved auto layout — Auto layouting now has more variants to choose from and works more efficiently.

Mini card visualization — A new visualization style "mini card" has been introduced.

Shape title position — The title position of shapes can be freely chosen.

Access other diagrams — You can directly access other diagrams in which a certain model element is used from the canvas.

Improved Design Assistant capabilities

The Design Assistant can now edit existing relationships between model elements from a natural-language instruction, in addition to creating and deleting them.
